PSLE question_force_2018_Q26
In PSLE 2016, question 30 tested on extension springs with weights. In 2018, SEAB tested on the concept again but using compression springs. In this lesson, we set up the apparatus shown in PSLE 2018 question 26 and provide the explanation...

PSLE question_force_2016_Q30
Force is a very abstract concept to our primary school kids. I personally think that our Singapore children are especially weak in understand force and energy because they are lacking experiences in hands-on activities. They games the play are mainly virtual and the housework is done mainly by the demestic helpers, parents and grand parents. I set up the experiment shown in the PSLE question and provide a simple explanation...

Explanation of how stroking method works
How stroking method works to magnetise a steel nail is not required in PSLE but important for O level. In recent years, PSLE did have few questions on this concept (with guidance). Since the concept is not too difficult to explain and understand, i would like to use Simple Dipole Model to briefly explain the concept...

PSLE question_energy_2014_Q44
PSLE 2014 Question 44 is difficult to visualise how it works. Many students who did not have a prior experience with this toy could not understand the question. We sourced for a similar toy to illustrate how it works. Hope this video will help the teachers to explain to the P6 kids...

PSLE question_energy_2018_Q35

PSLE question_energy_2018_Q35 asked a question which everyone experiences in real life. In spite of that, it is difficult to explain.

Many students may not be able to visualise the effect of having less mass (load) on the train and having a train moving up a slope.

A battery operated car is used to for the experiment.

PSLE question_Energy_Q22

This is an energy related question. When the balloon is totally deflated, it does not stop immediately. The elastic potential energy of the balloon converts totally to kinetic energy of car at position L. The car converts all its kinetic energy to heat and sound energy from L to M.

PSLE question_Force_2019 Q38

PSLE question_Force_2019 Q38 is difficult for the students to visualise especially when the attraction force in involved.

Many students cannot understand that the whee an attraction force is acting on a magnet which is placed on an electronic balance, the total force acting on the electronic balance decreases and hence the reading on the balance decreases.

PSLE question_Electricity_2018 Q38

PSLE 2018 Question 38 presents a practical 2-way switch which is commonly found at homes. This type of circuit is not usual in PSLE. Most students do not understand the 2-way switch circuit and the absent of a battery also post a problem to the candidates. We created an exact 2-way switch circuit here hopefully it is useful for the science teachers to show and explain.

PSLE question_Energy_2017 Q38

PSLE 2017 Question 37 is not too difficult to answer but difficult to understand. The equipment sited in the question is difficult to visualise how it works.

We made a model to illustrate how it works. Hopefully is useful to the science teachers for them to explain.
